Different Types of Swimming Pool Filters

!±8± Different Types of Swimming Pool Filters

Pool filter and pumps are important accessories for your swimming pool. Outdoor swimming pools always become dirty as twigs and leaves fall on it frequently. Moreover, the mustard algae formation in water is triggered during humid weather. Hence, pool owners must keep the water clean through water treatments and by installing correct swimming pool filters.

You can find different kinds of swimming pool filters in the market. Basically, you will find three different types of swimming pool filters. All of these types are efficient in cleaning water and each of them has their own unique features and advantages.

Sand Filters- This type of swimming pool filters is very simple and uses a layer of sand to clean the water. The dirty swimming pool water goes inside the filter from one side and flows through the sand layer which purifies it. The clean water flows out from the other end of the filter. You must clean the debris from this filter on a weekly basis, so it does not get clogged.

Cartridge Filters- The operation of this one is almost similar to that of oil filters in a car engine. The cartridge fitted inside this one contains special purifying materials. The dirty water flows inside the cartridge and the impurities are deposited in the purifying materials. The fresh and clean water comes out of the cartridge from the other end of the filter. Since the cartridge gets filled with debris it needs to be replaced after regular intervals.

Diatomaceous- This is the most efficient one among all the three types. The tiny diatoms inside this one can clean minute debris which is as small as 5 microns in size. Naturally, this not only clears the twigs and leaves but can clean your pool from those tiny dust particles that causes bacteria formation in water.

A pool owner needs to take proper care while installing a swimming pool filter since improper installation can reduce its efficiency. You must take proper care to connect the filter with the pool pump. Checking for leakage and other technical problems should be done periodically. Install a Pool Skimmer to Keep the Pool Clean

!±8± Install a Pool Skimmer to Keep the Pool Clean

With summer season fully in gear, many homeowners are escaping the unbearable heat and humidity by relaxing in their backyard pools. So you only noticed that having that beautiful above ground swimming pool is going to involve a lot of effort to keep it looking nice and hopefully enjoy it. One nice appliance to have when it comes to pool maintenance is a skimmer. What is the pool skimmer?

So, what precisely is a pool skimmer? It's a functional gadget for removing small sticks and insects; many models are integrated in the pool system while others are manually operated. A mesh basket or screen filter is incorporated in the unit to trap the, bugs, small sticks and other debris and block it from making its way into the pool's filtration pump. The models that come with your pool kit is an element of a filtration system that pushes pool water into the filter and removes the bacteria, and sanitizes it before distributing it back to the pool.

A tool that moves about around the surface of the swimming pool. It uses the surface tension of the water to drag in the materials, insects, etc.; that get blown into or fall into the pool in through a small basket before it goes to the pump.

The most widely used is the static skimmer this is installed within the most private (backyard) swimming pools. These rely upon maintaining the water level of the pool to operate properly and have a limited effect using the surface tension of the water to attract floating debris.

The skimmers can be mounted after the installation of an above ground swimming pool as well. You will have to assemble your parts and arrange them out with the directions and be set cut out holes; below is a list of normal components.

You'll find that the swimming pool wall cutout size is 11 1/2" wide x 5 1/8" high. You will need to cut holes for that skimmer box and return line; we're obviously, working with a fully produced and working above ground pool.

How do i install a skimmer for a above ground pool?

At the precut wall openings, get the two parts of the return unit then be sure to have your assistant support you on the other side. You must have the fittings separated and able to connect on both sides. The return unit needs to be set up outside of the water and connected firmly.

Wear some shorts and get in the pool. Meet your partner at the precut metal wall openings. Your collaborator is outside the swimming pool facing the openings. First take the return fitting apart. There are just two pieces to the return.

Your associate will be able to cut the outline as you push the liner through the hole. At this point, you will be holding it steady as your partner finishes cutting. Push the return unit through when you are done cutting, and have the nut screwed on and tightened.

You're going to need to install the skimmer. The skimmer also is supplied in two pieces; a face plate and the box. The face-plate affixes to the wall on the inside while the box hangs on the outside of the swimming pool.

The skimmer links through the wall using several screws plus your swimming pool's wall is precut for them. Line up the skimmer plate against the precut wall opening on the inside of the pool just like you did with the return. Now, take one of the screws and poke it through the plate, liner, and wall hole.

Have your partner line up the skimmer box on the outside of the swimming pool and fasten the screw you poked through to the skimmer box. Repeat this until all of the screws are together and tighten. Your skimmer is set and the only thing left to do is cut the liner around the inside of the skimmer plate to produce an opening. This procedure is actually harder to explain than its to truly do. Remember- when doubtful- cut small. You can get a cool pool that will virtually clean itself.
